Tel: (352) 334-3400, ext 3865 CDS provides a unique range of vital services to the community. Unfortunately, as a non-profit agency, monetary constraints always limit the programs offered and threaten to diminish their impact. Individual clients and the community suffer as a result. Since our programs deal with youth in-need, drug abuse issues and prevention strategies, this is a serious problem that cannot be ignored.
Your monetary donation will go towards supporting CDS, its programs and its services. It might be used to purchase food for kids in our shelters, help cover the costs of expanding counseling programs or printing prevention support materials.
Do you need any in-kind donations? Yes! Our Interface Youth Program shelters are always in need of quality furniture, clothing and other items. Please contact us for further details.
Do you have any fundraising events? Yes! Every spring CDS hosts Spotlight on Youth. Spotlight on Youth is an annual fundraiser benefiting CDS and is a unique opportunity for local area youth to shine onstage. Auditions are held to find the best high-school talent in the area. It's very competitive; less than half of those who try-out are accepted. The hard working students who make it perform in front of hundreds of spectators at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The range of talent is quite impressive and includes singers, dancers, artists, musicians, poets and culinary artists. Together they put on a professional level performance. No one leaves the audience disappointed. A silent auction is held in conjunction with the event as well as an exclusive Sponsors' Reception for those who have made significant donations. At the end of the evening there is a Dessert Reception open to all. Sponsors underwrite the cost of the event and help raise additional funds for the programs of CDS.
Does CDS take part in any fundraising promotions? Yes! Several organizations donate to CDS when you use their services. Wirelessfundraiser.com collects used cell phones and donates part of the proceeds to CDS. Goodsearch.com donates to CDS each time you use their search engine. Finally, shopping at BuyforCharity.com also earns CDS donations.
