of alcohol or marijuana (sickly, sweet smell)

Sudden
weight loss

Tendency
toward increased dishonesty

Trouble
with the law: DWI, possession, theft, etc.

Absenteeism,
especially on Mondays

Frequent
job losses or changes

"Turned
off" attitude if drugs are discussed

Missing
household money or objects

Deteriorating
family relationships

Drug
use paraphernalia, booze, or empty bottle found

Observations
by other people of negative behavior by person in question

Obvious
signs of physical intoxication
