Safe Place

National Safe Place programCDS is the local affiliate for the National Safe Place program.   The National Safe Place Program is a network of services around the United States to help youth with problems related to running away, homelessness, and abuse.  All public schools and libraries in Alachua County are Safe Place sites as all Gainesville Fire Stations and the city’s RTS buses and some local businesses.  Any youth in trouble can go to one of these sites and ask for help.  Staff will contact our Interface Youth Program Shelter who will make arrangements to assist the young person.  If s/he needs to go to the shelter, local law enforcement will offer transportation.
